To get a gold reduction : (I'm using a Cricket with 5lpm oxycon). Choose a base colour, I like to use a transparent pink, but clear works as well. Encase your bead in Aurae, then turn up the propane to get a slight reduction flame. With the bead still quite hot roll it in the top of the flame, take it out and check the colour, roll it again. Keep going until the metallic is the way you want it, but don't over-reduce. I garage and anneal at 940 and have never lost any of the shine. |

To get teals, blues, purples and pinks: I always use CIM Hades for these beads. Encase the black in a layer of Aurae and let the bead *cool right down. *Turn down the oxygen to a medium reduction flame and roll the bead in the flame. The reduction is slower to develop on these beads and you have to keep checking after each introduction into the flame. You can see the pinks and purples start to develop and they will intensify to a certain point, but again, don't over-reduce |
